Obituary of Therese L. Izzo
Therese Lucille Izzo, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at the age of 96. A longtime resident of Staten Island and formerly of Brooklyn, she spent her final days in the care of Eger Nursing home.
Therese was the beloved wife of the late Anthony D. Izzo and was predeceased by her sisters, Madeline Melato and Anne Imperiale. Her legacy of love lives on through her children, Peter Izzo and his wife Carol, and Felicia Izzo. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew, Leanna, and Nicholas, who remained the pride of her life.
Before raising her family, Therese worked as a secretary in Manhattan. She was a longtime and faithful member of Holy Family Parish and took great pride in teaching CCD at the parish for many years. Therese was happiest in her kitchen and found her greatest joy in cooking meals for those she loved. Above all, she cherished her role as grandmother, finding immense happiness in every moment spent with her grandchildren.
In her quieter moments, Therese enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often found caught up in the drama of her favorite soap opera or revisiting the timeless stories of classic movies.
Her life was a beautiful reflection of the things she held most dear: faith, family, and the joy of a shared meal.
