Obituary of Joseph E. Marchese

 

Joseph Marchese passed away peacefully on March 15,2026 at home surrounded by his Wife,Daughter & Son.

Born on May 9, 1963, Joseph lived a life defined by devotion to the people he loved most. Above all else, he cherish his wife and children. He was a family man whose greatest joy came from being surrounded by those closest to him. He loved spending time with family, especially Sunday afternoons gathered at his in laws enjoying  Sunday sauce and the simple comfort of being around the table together.

Joseph was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a steady presence to so many. His love, guidance, and quiet strength were constants in the lives of those who knew him best.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Donna Barbagallo Marchese , whose partnership and love were the heart of their family. He was a proud and loving father to Ashleigh and Joseph, and a cherished father-in-law to Julia Kahn. He also adored his grand-pup, Sully, who brought him so much joy. Joseph also leaves behind his mother-in-law Alice Barbagallo, along with many in-laws, nieces, nephew, cousins and dear friends who were like family to him.

He was the beloved son of the late Julia Gentile and a loving nephew of Louise Gentile.

Joseph also dedicated more than 30 years of his life to a distinguished career in global security and operations. He spent the majority of his professional life at Citi, where he rose to become Managing Director and Head of Global Security and Technology. Known for his integrity, leadership, and sense of responsibility, Joseph earned the deep respect of colleagues and those he mentored throughout his career. After leaving Citi, he continued his work in an executive leadership role at Metro One Security (Specialized),where his expertise and experience continued to make an impact.

While Joseph accomplished much professionally, those who knew him best will remember him for the way he loved his family with loyalty, protectiveness,and unwavering support. His presence brought comfort, strength, and stability to all those that knew him.

Joseph will be profoundly missed by his family and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, 3/19/2026 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. On Friday, 3/20/2026, we will be departing at 9:15 AM for a Funeral Mass that will be held in St. Ann’s R.C. Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Moravian Cemetery.
