Obituary of Michael F. King

 

Michael Francis King passed away on April 8, 2026. He was born in Brooklyn to John E. King and MaryAnn Harrington King on February 26, 1929. Michael married his wife Agnes (Dottie) King on September 15,1951 at Good Shephard Church. In 1968, they moved their family to Staten Island.

 

Michael shared 62 years with his bride before she was called home. He still celebrated their love every year on their anniversary after her death. Their marriage was a true partnership filled with laughter, dedication, and cherished vacations together. He was also predeceased by his siblings Patrick King, Nancy Jennings, Theresa Harvey and John King, his sons-in-law Michael Collura and Charles MacIver, and his son Michael F. King.

 

He is survived by his loving sister Nora Healy, his seven children, Michael J. King (Jean), Dorothy MacIver, Kathleen Collura (Anthony Abagnalo), Margaret Sicurella (Salvatore), Colleen Rinaldi (John), Brian King (Debra), and Mary Riddo (Michael). He is also survived by his Grandchildren , Michael (Donna) King, Jacqueline King (Cary), Carlee King (Louisa), Danielle Collura (Joseph), Michelle Valentino (James), Jessica Crews (Casey), Michael Collura Jr, Samantha Kaminiski (Kyle), Richard Sicurella, Jennifer Riddo, Anna Riddo, Kristen Anderson (Ray), Dr. Kelly King (Ryan Gorman), Nicole King (Dylan), Jason King. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Lily King, Amanda, Erin and Dominic Collura, Caiden and Charlotte Valentino, Josh, Daisy, Ryleigh and Lorraine Crews, and Jaxson and Jonathan Anderson.

 

Michael served his country honorably as part of the Army of Occupation following WWII. After returning home, he dedicated many years of service in the NYC Transit and the US Postal Service, demonstrating the same reliability and integrity that defined every part of his life.

 

He was a devoted parishioner in Holy Family Catholic Church. Michael's faith was an important foundation throughout his life. He would spend time every day in a prayer room he created in his home. He treasured time spent with his family. He enjoyed taking his children to Coney Island and Rockaway beach to jump the waves and then enjoy the rides and a Nathans Hot dog. The family enjoyed many road trips and treasured vacations. His wife Dottie and he enjoyed many vacations together after the children were grown. Mike was a sports enthusiast and Yankees fan. He spent many years volunteering for the Babe Ruth little league on Staten Island. Known for his warm spirit and quick wit, he reassuring them especially loved telling jokes to his grandchildren, always making them laugh. He also shared his deep faith with them, often speaking about religion and them that if you put your worries in God's hands he would take care of them.

 

Michael will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. His life was a testament to the importance of family, faith, humor, and simple pleasure. He is now reunited with his beloved wife Dottie, a thought that brings comfort to those who love him. His presence and smile will be deeply missed, but the love and memories he leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and strength to all who knew him.
