Obituary of Joseph P. Giaccio
Joseph “Junior” Giaccio, of Mountainside, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and prayers of his family on May 9, 2026, at the age of 93.
Born on December 4, 1932, in Staten Island, New York, Joseph was a proud Italian-American whose life was rooted in faith, family, hard work, and love of country. A devoted Catholic, Joseph carried a deep relationship with God throughout his life and found great strength, comfort, and guidance through his faith and his church community. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought strength and guidance to those around him.
Joseph was a successful businessman known for his determination, integrity, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in providing for his family and building a life centered around tradition and loyalty. Outside of work, he loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, where he found peace, friendship, and lifelong memories.
A proud patriot, Joseph deeply loved the United States and carried that pride throughout his life. He believed in family gatherings, respect for others, and the importance of staying close to those you love.
Joseph shared a loving marriage with his wife, Carla, since 1988. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, and enduring love.
He was the beloved father of John and Susan Giaccio, Joanne and Gene Scutari, Rachelle and Mike Hafey, Donna and Keith Perosi, and the late Robert Giaccio. Joseph was the cherished grandfather of 14 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of his life.
Joseph was also predeceased by his five brothers, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond throughout his life. Though they have all passed before him, their memories remained forever close to his heart.
He will be remembered as a strong and proud man who loved deeply, worked tirelessly, and always put his family first. His wisdom, stories, traditions, unwavering faith, and steady presence will be missed beyond words but carried on forever by the family he loved so dearly.
The family finds peace in knowing Joseph has been welcomed into eternal life, reunited with all those who went before him and embraced in the loving arms of God.
May he rest in peace. Services to held at Matthew Funeral Home And Cremation Services, Inc.
