Obituary of Philip A. Festa

Philip Anthony Festa, 84, of Staten Island, New York was born on May 11th, 1942, and passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026.

Philip, son of the late Ciro and Rose Festa, was a devoted husband to Carol, loving father, grandfather, coach and friend whose greatest joy always came from the people he loved most. He is survived by his loving children Gerry, his wife Mary  and Rosanne with Victor, who took incredible care of him at home, his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Daniel, Christopher, Samantha, Christian and Alana, and great grandchildren, Madelynn, Evelyn and Riley.

Philip spent his career in digital management and was President of Mid Island Babe Ruth baseball league for 25 years. He loved baseball, golf, cigars, lasagna, sharing meals with family and friends, and doo-wop music. Upon retirement, he found great joy golfing especially with his son and grandkids.

More than anything, Philip will be remembered for the way he made people feel. He was known for always being happy and welcoming.

His smile and positive spirit could brighten any room; he was a man with a bright mind who loved helping people with his great advice.

His family and friends will forever treasure the memories they shared with him and carry his love with them always. Though he will be deeply missed, his warmth and kindness will live on in his family who have vowed to keep his memory alive.

Philip’s legacy is not only in the life he lived, but in the countless lives he made better.

His life will be honored at Matthew Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Patrick’s Church at 10 am.
