Obituary of Olga Rosales

 

Olga Esperanza Rosales, born January 15, 1946, in Chiquimula, Guatemala CA passed away

May 26, 2026, in College Station, TX after a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer.

Olga is survived by her daughter, Olga Ferguson, granddaughter, Margaret "Mars" Ferguson, grandson, Benjamin Ferguson, Son Angelbert Rosales, daughter-in-law, Mirna Rosales, grandson, Adrian Rosales, granddaughter, Gabriella Rosales, siblings, Angel Montes, Edgar Montes, and Beatrice Balla (Nebi Balla). She is preceded in death by her husband Angel Rosales, mother, Ana Carlota Montes, father, Virgilio Montes and brothers, Rolando Montes, José Heradio Acevedo Morales.

 

Olga moved to New York City in 1968 before settling on Staten Island, which was her home until 2022. When she moved to Texas in March of 2022, she lived in the Villas of Rock Prairie in College Station where she enjoyed some wonderful friends and neighbors.

Not only was Olga a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she worked as a CNA for 14 years before retiring to care for her aging parents in Guatemala. She later moved them to California. Olga loved to travel and has been as far as Taiwan with her godson Abraham Lizama.

She was baptized as a Christian believer in the Jordan River in January of 2005. She served as a volunteer for Enhabit Hospice for a year, enjoyed gardening, working on puzzles, and reading scripture. Her passion was encouraging others to trust God and follow in the way of Christ and his apostles.

A graveside service will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery on Staten Island, NY on June 6th at 10AM where she will be buried with her beloved husband, Angel "Lito" Rosales.
