Salvatore P. Gerardi, 83, of Willowbrook, passed away at home on December 15, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores; loving father of Mark Gerardi and his wife, Carolyn, and Christopher Gerardi; cherished grandfather of Michael and Alexander Gerardi; devoted step-grandfather of Samantha, Nicholas, and Nicole Castro; dear brother of Susan Gerardi. Mr. Gerardi was born in 1934, on Staten Island, in New Brighton, and was raised there as well. He was graduated from McKee High School. After his days in school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Buffalo. He worked for over thirty five years for Con Edison, as a Customer Service Representative. Some of his hobbies included reading history, sketching and sculpting, tinkering with ham radio, and rooting for the NY Yankees. He was also a fan of classic cars. Salvatore was described by his family as being very charitable, contributing to the Wounded Warriors Project, The Shriners Club, and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the three foundations listed above. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday at 9:30 am.
