Obituary of Marie Rosalie Marcotrigiano

After a long and courageous battle, Marie passed away on November 16, 2023, at 85 years old. Marie was born in Manhattan to Prosper and Livia Vallet where she grew up with her cherished siblings Rudy and Denise. She had fond memories of spending Saturday afternoons with them in The Museum of Natural History and Central Park. She completed high school in three years and graduated from Hunter College with a degree in foreign language. She was fluent in French, Italian and Spanish. She then studied on a Fulbright Scholarship in Grenoble, France and also lived in Rome for a short time. She married Vincent Marcotrigiano in 1967 and they were married for over 50 years. In 1968 they moved to Staten Island where they raised their daughters, Danielle and Donna. She was a dedicated mother. Being a teacher, there was a strong focus of education in the household, and she imparted her love of travel to her children. She was also an avid reader. She adored her grandchildren Alexandra, Nicholas, Hudson, Lucy and Sloane. She lived for spending time with them, taking them on outings and hearing about their days. Marie and Vinnie lived life to the fullest and traveled the world together. Marie is survived by her daughters Danielle Anzalone and Donna White, sister Denise Nichols, son-in-law Brian White, five grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie left an incredible impact on all who knew her through her intelligence and adventurous spirit and her love for life was inspirational, She was a strong, generous brilliant woman who led a remarkable life and will be dearly missed .
