Obituary of Maureen Fawcett

Maureen Napoli Fawcett, 60, of Monroe Township, NJ, was loving mother, meema, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world suddenly on January 16th, 2024. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing. Maureen was born on January 25th, 1963, to Ralph and Mary Napoli in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from Wagner High School in 1981, she went on to study nursing at St. Vincent’s School of Nursing where she graduated with her associate’s degree. After graduation, she landed her first job as a float pool nurse in Redondo Beach, California before moving back to New York where she started her career at Richmond University Medical Center, formally known as St. Vincent’s Hospital for 36 years in the PACU. She also worked per diem in the PACU at Centrastate Medical Center. Maureen loved being a nurse and devoted her life to caring for others. She recently retired in March 2023. In 1983, she met Robert Fawcett, and they wed in 1985, going on to have 4 children, Samantha Daniel, Christopher, and Robert Brian, whom she was very proud of. When Samantha was born in 1987, she dedicated her life to being a caring, loving, wonderful mother. She was the heart of the family, our best friend, the person we called with the good, bad, ugly, or exciting news, and she always knew exactly what to say to keep a smile on our faces. In 2017, she gladly welcomed a new role that she filled effortlessly as Meema to Averie. She quickly went from one grandchild to five: Averie, Timothy, Jackson, Laila, and Landon. She enjoyed spending time with them and creating precious memories. When she spoke of them, her smile beamed from ear to ear. They were the loves of her life. She thoroughly enjoyed spoiling them and showering them with hugs and kisses. Maureen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. If she ever had any time to herself, you would find a book in her hand. She will be greatly missed by many. Maureen was predeceased by her parents, Ralph Napoli and Mary Napoli (nee Nicotra). She is survived by her children, Samantha Smith (Timothy Smith), Daniel Fawcett (Lauren Fawcett nee Mina), Christopher Fawcett (Brianna Crisci), and Robert Brian Fawcett (Patricia McCann); grandchildren, Averie Smith, Timothy Smith, Landon Smith, Jackson Fawcett, Laila Fawcett; her siblings, Ralph Napoli (Louise Napoli), Patricia Napoli; her nieces and nephews, Amy Ingstad, Timothy Ingstad, Molly Ingstad, Felicia Cody, Gabrielle Thomas, Philip Napoli.
