Obituary of Ida F. Davis

Ida F. Davis 88, of Staten Island passed away peacefully at Eger nursing home on March 13, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard J. Davis (2022), loving mother of the late Leonard C. Davis (2023) and is survived by her son Anthony G. Davis, wife Theresa Davis and cherished grandchildren Madison and Andrew. Ida was also the dear sister to the late Tony Conte, Bud Conte, and Antoinette Spadafora and is survived by her sister in law Virgina Gage and several loving nieces. Ida was born and raised in Brooklyn and worked for Nabisco for several years before relocating to Staten Island. After her marriage she devoted herself to being a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. As any friend to the family can attest to, you were never able to leave the family house without being offered a meal, snacks or a beverage. She always found great joy in spending time with others whether it be over food, giving a gift or a sharing a conversation. As a person who valued education and loved baseball, Ida was always there for encouragement at both of her sons games and school functions. She was most proud of her son Lenny who became and retired as a Sergeant for the NYPD and her son Anthony who attended and graduated college leading to a successful career in civil engineering. The support she had for her sons carried over to her grandchildren as she loved to attend their activities with pride including dance recitals, soccer and baseball games and any many school functions. Ida was very proud of the family she built and the home she owned with her husband in Meiers Corners for over 20 years. She cherished all of the memories of her time spent there with friends and family. Her smile and spirit will truly be missed by all who loved her.
