Obituary of Irene R. Pelusio

Irene Rose Pelusio (nee Pisseri) passed away Monday, April 1, 2024. She was the beloved wife to the late John H. Pelusio Jr. of 29 years. The loving daughter of the late Peter and Ida Pisseri and the devoted sister of Arlene Scarfone (Richard Scarfone) and Lorraine Manesiotis (Constantine Manesiotis). She was an Aunt to seven nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Irene is survived by her three children, Michael Pelusio (Annette Pelusio),
Peter Pelusio (Michael Jackoski) and Maryann Cundari. Irene was a proud and loving Mema to her three grandchildren, Jenna Pelusio, Joey and Johnny Cundari. She loved to give them squishy hugs and kisses. There was a never-ending supply.

Irene was born on November 29, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York where she was raised and later grew up on Staten Island, eventually retiring to New Jersey.

She worked for the College of Staten Island and then Scaran Heating and Air in the Accounts Receivable/ Payable department. She worked at Scaran for over 20 years.

One of her favorite places to be was the beach with her loving family. Many hours were spent there with her husband, her parents, her sisters and brother in laws, her children, her nieces and nephews, her grandchildren and even her grand nieces and nephews, usually all at the same time! It was a true place of joy and happiness for her.

Irene loved music. Starting as a teenager, she played her collection of Johnny Mathis records until she wore down the needle. As time went on, her record collection switched to a CD collection and then eventually to an unlimited collection on her computer and iphone. George Michael, Michael Buble and many more were in the mix. As soon as Adam Lambert burst onto the scene her world stopped! She was known for going to back-to-back concerts in different cities… She was an official "Glambert".

Irene was loved and adored by her entire family and the friends she met along the way. Her smile always lit up a room. She will be truly missed and it will take time to mend our broken hearts.

Please take a moment to look up at the stars tonight, they will be brighter than ever. A new angel is among them.
