Josephine Terrana Runnels March 18, 1945 - April 8, 2020 Josephine Terrana Runnels, age 75, passed away peacefully on April 8th, 2020 at home, with her family, after a long, courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. Josephine was born in Rossiter, Pennsylvania before relocating to Meirs Corners with her family as a child. She resided in Prince's Bay for the last 47 years. She was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony Terrana and Rosaria Terrana (Formica) and pre-deceased by her brother Ross Terrana (Norma). Josephine was also the loving sister to her brother Joseph Terrana (Anita) and sisters Catherine DeCarlo (the late John DeCarlo), Regina Palmieri (the late Joseph Palmieri), ValerinaGulotta (Charles), Mary Terrana, Theresa Terrana, Antoinette Terrana, Carmela Modafferi and Concetta Dickmann ( Dennis). A graduate of New Dorp High School, Josephine proudly worked for Greek Lines in New York City. She was also the owner of American Advertising of Staten Island for 36 years, so that she was also able to work from home and care for her children. In her spare time, she was also a part time Real Estate Agent with Neuhaus Reality. Josephine enjoyed first and foremost being with her family. She loved shopping, coupons, travelling and celebrating every momentous occasion with a homemade meal or a dinner out. She also learned to love golfing in her later years. Josephine is survived by the love of her life and husband of 51 years, Jim T. Runnels and their children Wendy Runnels and James A. Runnels (Lisa). Beloved Mima to her grandchildren Breanna Foster, Logan Foster, Lilliana Runnels, Anthony Runnels and Olivia Runnels. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and Mima who was and still is loved by all. Funeral arrangements, handled by Matthew's Funeral Home, will be private due to the Corona Virus. The family hopes you will join them for a celebration of Josephine's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to an Ovarian Cancer charity of your choice. The Runnels family would like to thank you all for your support and prayers during our difficult time.
