Obituary of Dorothy L. Worrell

Dorothy Worrell, aged 88, passed away on May 4, 2020 due to complications of Covid-19. She is predeceased by her husband Eustace and sisters, Olga and Ouida. Dorothy is the cherished mother of Brenda Browne, spouse Alvin, and Dr. Cheryl Worrell. Treasured grandmother of Brian (Alison), Brandon and Tyler. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and long-time friends both here and in her native Barbados. Dorothy immigrated to the U.S. in 1970, settled initially in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island in 1990. She was an employee of UCP, last working at the Cora Hoffman Center. Dorothy was the baker of the family and hosted a Thanksgiving "can't miss" dinner for the extended family where her coconut bread and cakes were treasured take home items. She enjoyed travelling to her native Barbados as well as multiple trips to the UK, Florida, and California as well as cruises. Dorothy is a long time parishioner of All Saints Episcopal Church and a Memorial Service will be held there at a future date as permitted. A private viewing and funeral for Dorothy will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Matthew Funeral Home Inc.
