Obituary of Duminda Abeysekera

Duminda Abeysekera, age 31, passed away on June 25th, 2020. Born on November 26th, 1988. He was the loving son of Anoma Abeysekera and Chitrananda Abeysekera, and the younger brother to Aravinda Abeysekera and Hiran Abeysekera. Duminda was born in Sri Lanka and emigrated to New York, along with his family, at the age of six years old. He grew up on Staten Island, NY and attended Curtis High School. He furthered his education at the Wood Tobe Institute and remained a faithful employee of AmeriPharma Labs in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Duminda loved spending time with his friends and family, was always the "comedian" in the group, and always had a contagious smile. He enjoyed traveling, gathering people around, and offered a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be remembered as a joyful, caring, kind-hearted brother, son, friend, and colleague to us all. Mr. Abeysekera leaves behind the love of his life Ms. Luz Moraza, his precious dog Tyson and his family in Sri Lanka. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Sunday, 6/28, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Service is scheduled for Monday, 6/29, at 10:00 am. Private cremation to follow in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ. Due to the current health crisis, the number of visitors in the funeral home will be limited and the use of facial masks will be required.
