Obituary of Frances Gurrieri

Frances Ann Gurrieri, 86 of Graniteville, Staten Island, NY, passed away on June 28, 2020, peacefully at home, with her son Thomas, by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late John V. Gurrieri for 54 years. Born Frances Ann DeGati to Cassilla DeCarlo and Thomas DeGati in Brooklyn, she later settled in Staten Island in 1974. She worked as a secretary and raised her family. Upon retirement, she and her late husband John enjoyed their winters in Florida as well as dancing, music and entertaining friends. You could always find Frances poolside enjoying the sun. Frances is survived by sons Thomas, Frank and his Wife Doreen, and the late John R.; grandchildren Christina Champagnone and her husband Michael, Johnny and his wife Johna, Frank Jr. and Grace; great-grandchildren Ava, Jet, Olivia, Finely, Hayden, Ainsley, Jonathan and a host of loved ones. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc, 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, 7/9, departing at 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island, NY. Visitation on Wednesday, 7/8, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Due to the current health situation, all visitors to the funeral home and church must wear masks, and the number of visitors will be limited.
