Obituary of Loretta A. Rinaldi

Loretta A. Rinaldi, 85, of Keyport, NJ, formerly of Sunnyside, Staten Island, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis; loving mother of Rosemarie Conte and her late husband Paul, Francine D'Esposito and her husband Matthew, and the late Louis J. Rinaldi; cherished grandmother of John Paul Conte, Paul Conte and his wife Jenna, Toni Marie D'Esposito and her partner RayPardee, Andrew Conte, Lora D'Esposito and her partner Sergio Amoedo, Alyssa Conte, Nikki Rinaldi, and 2 LT Louis J Rinaldi; devoted great-grandmother of Michael, Karter, Sergio, Zander and Paul Joseph; dear sister of Frederick Virga and his wife Gina, and Vivian Leininger. She was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Rinaldi was born in Staten Island in 1935. She also resided in Brooklyn and Manhattan and was graduated from the Julia Richmond High School. Loretta worked for many years as bookkeeper and after retirement she worked as a Food Demonstrator for Costco, where she made many friendships with her co-workers and customers. In her youth she enjoyed bowling and doing ceramics with her friends. Loretta was an avid sports fan and she rooted extremely passionately for the NY Giants and NY Mets. She was a great cook for and loved to entertain family and friends. Her Sunday Sauce and Chicken Soup were her specialties. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, 7/6, departing at 10 am. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa's R.C. Church at 10:45 am. Entombment to follow in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Due to the current health crisis, the number of visitors allowed into the funeral home and church will be limited and must wear a mask.
