Obituary of Rosemarie A. Cassidy

Mrs. Rosemarie A. Cassidy (nee Duffy), 83, of Bethlehem Pennsylvania, formerly of Princess Bay, Staten Island, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Cassidy (2010); loving mother of Maureen Rivas and her husband Oscar, Lauren Schleich and her husband Michael, and Peter Cassidy and his wife Michele, and the late Thomas K. Cassidy; cherished grandmother of Katherine Greco and her husband Anthony, Kevin Cole, Shannon Cassidy, Liam Cassidy, Aidan Cassidy, Ceili Liguori; devoted great-grandmother of Kiera, Anthony, Olivia, and Tegan. Rosemarie was predeceased by her brother and sister. Mrs. Cassidy was born in Manhattan and raised in Brooklyn. She furthered her education at the Grace Institute. In her younger years she was employed as a Secretary for AT&T, before becoming a homemaker and raising her children. Later on she worked at Mount Loretto. Rosemarie was very much into everything Irish culture, especially Irish music and dancing. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and was a proud member of the Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians. Rosemarie was an avid traveler, as she travelled all over the world. Europe and Ireland were her favorite destinations to visit. In lieu of flowers, the family of Rosemarie would appreciate donations be made to The PBA Widow's and Children's Fund, Inc. (the "Fund"), (check payable to the PBA Widows and Children's Fund, c/o Patrick Hendry, 125 Broad Street, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10004-2400) or the DEA Widow's and Children's Fund (check payable to the Detective's Edowment Association, Inc., mail to 26 Thomas Street, New York, NY 10007, attn: Paul DiGiacomo, Vice President). Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, July 16, departing at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, 7/15, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Due to the current health crisis, all visitors must wear masks. Please keep in mind the amount of visitors into the funeral home and church will be limited.
