Obituary of Sarah Micharoni

Sarah Micharoni, (nee LaFalce) passed away peacefully on December 14, 2017. Rosaria Concetta (Sarah) was born April 22, 1927 to Carmela and Joseph LaFalce, from Messina, Sicily. Married the love of her life Rudy (rabbit) Micharoni on October 1, 1950 (deceased 2003). Loving mother of Trudy (Robert). Cherished grandmother of Ralph and Rudy (Kim) Giarletta. Fond great grandmother of Loren, Jordan, Grace, Gianna and Nicolette. Dear sister of the late, Nancy Spinelli and late Mary Podesta, and several nieces and nephews. Graduated from McKee HS and worked in Manhattan making bridal gowns, and later at Island Dress Factory in Staten Island. Chairlady for ILGWU until she retired. Born and raised in Rosebank, was fondly known as "the numbers lady". Loved to play lotto and was very lucky. She also enjoyed bingo & trips to Atlantic City. Her true love was her family, adored her grandsons and great grandchildren. Loved to cook her famous eggplant parm and sausage & peppers. Will be greatly missed. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY, on Monday at 9:15 am. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph R. C. Church (Rosebank), at 10 am. Interment to follow at Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
