Obituary of Leonard C. Edwards

Obituary of Leonard Edwards Leonard Edwards affectionately known was "LC" was born on October 16, 1942 in Suttle, Alabama to the late Elnora Edwards. He was the 7th of ten children. He attended East Perry School in Suttle Alabama and joined the Marietta AME Zion Church at an early age. Lenard was always motivated and a hard worker. As a young man, he traveled to Staten Island and became a presser for Broadway Cleaners. He later worked for U.S. Gypsum. In the early 1980's, his leadership qualities lead him to open his own business "Used Appliances" on Port Richmond Avenue, Staten Island. He had a positive attitude, was detail oriented and self-reliant. He never hesitated to help when needed. If his services were needed, he was there. Leonard was a loving husband and father, devoted brother and brother-in. He was very family oriented and his family was his priority. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them. Leonard always had a smile on his face and Sunday was family day. Preceding Leonard in death was his mother Elnora, his son Craig, four brothers, Eddie, George, Lawrence and Leroy. He Leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Melinda; five children Denise, Darren, Chris, Michael (Lynelle) and Victor (Christine); three brothers, Rev. Lorenzo Edwards of Detroit, MI, Clarence (Shelby), Richard (Mary) of Staten Island, NY; two sisters Clara Marshall and Gertrude Hinton of Rice, VA; four grandchildren, Carson Williams, Natalie Brown, Hopeton Dennis, and Gisele Edwards; two great grandchildren; one sister-law Arline Beverly Edwards of Staten Island, NY, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
