I was introduced to Joe by Monte Harris in the mid 90's. I visited him in NYC for a couple days. I really enjoyed him. He was clever and witty. I miss him.

Joe's dive buddies from the Atlantis II days in the eighties have fond memories of him. Joe turned dive trips into adventures with a mission - explore the seas and do it with style. Joe's students learned to dive with grace and respect for marine life. He was the consummate master dive instructor.
Dive trips and post dive dinners graced with Joe's energy and sense of fun were an absolute "blast." His ever-present wit, wealth of dive stories, knowledge of the sport, adventuresome spirit, talent for teaching, patience with new divers and ability to motivate were enjoyed by his students and fellow divers. Our deepest condolences are with his family and son.

Joe was a long time friend and knowledgeable sailor. Joe and I met in 1995 while working at Steve Colgate Offshore Sailing School in Greenwhich Ct. His quick wit and sense of humor will be missed.
