Fontana Family: My deepest sympathy for the profound loss of a man who was the embodiment of the word 'GENTLEMAN'. Never has their been a more inviting and generous spirit who could make you feel as if you had known him for 25 yrs. after a 25 second introduction. Being in the presence of Dennis was always an honor and pleasure and all are better for having had him in our lives. I will long cherish playing shortstop behind his pitching and will always hold fond the memories of grand Super Bowl Parties where the true game was not on the grid iron but rather in who would win the $1 dollar box pool while feasting on an always generous spread offered by the most grand of host.
Rest in peace Mr. Fontana and may those who you loved most know that you will always be with them as a guardian angel! I know you will be watching the Raiders with them every Sunday too.
Al Davis is credited with the Raider's Credo: 'Just win Baby!' You won in the most important game of all: A Life Well Lived.
With Deepest Sympathy & Respect - David McDonald

I worked for him in NYC....many years ago.....he was the office manager.....always happy go lucky, gentleman always.....
I tell people this story all the time.
He called me into his office....that was when smoking was allowed.......I would go in...he would blow his cigar smoke in my face.......
He will be missed.
I kept in touch with him during the years....he always told me to slow down .....I spoke very fast.....
I love you Dennis. I will miss our calls, stories and laughter.
Rest In Peace my friend.
A hero in my book. ❤

Dennis was a true New Yorker, proud of everything he accomplished. A great friend and softball coach with a wicked sense of humor. A great father and husband, and communicator. He was the glue that held many of us together. Cannot help smiling when I think of him. He will truly be missed.

A great guy. A dedicated softball coach. Lots of laughs...especially the way we played. Appropriately named Bananas.
A loving father. A devoted husband. Will truly be missed. RIP
