Obituary of Myra C. Somma

MYRA C. SOMMA October 10, 1949 – January 6, 2021 Myra Somma, age 71, passed on the morning of January 6, 2021. Myra was a wonderful, generous and compassionate woman who was loved dearly by all. She was born to Francis and Anne Kendziora in 1949 in Brooklyn, NY, and was raised in Queens, graduating from St. Helena High School in 1967. She went on to work as a commercial property manager for over 20 years in downtown Manhattan. Her passions included traveling the world with her husband, cooking for her family, tending plants, pampering her pet dogs, and caring for all of God’s creatures from her home on Staten Island. Myra leaves behind her husband Albert, brother David and his wife Tesha, sisters-in-law Sophie and Margelyn, nieces and nephews, cousins and pet dog Frankie. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Tuesday, 1/12/2021, departing at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church at 10:15 AM. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Monday, 1/11/2021, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
