Obituary of Eric P. Fisher

Motorcycles weren't a hobby, they were a lifestyle! Eric P. Fisher took his final ride on the clouds to heaven on January 10, 2021, he was 73 years young. After graduating high school in 1965, Eric enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and fought for his country during the Vietnam War. In 1971, he was honorably discharged and returned back home to Staten Island, New York where he started his family and his career as an oil burner technician at Quinlan Fuel. As his love and passion for the open road on his Harley grew, he soon became one of the original founding members of a motorcycle club called The Trotters, MC. where he held the title of treasurer. Taking yearly trips to DC for Rolling Thunder, co-organizing the run Toys for Tots with the Staten Island Biker's Association, taking part in numerous runs throughout the year or just taking a ride to nowhere is what he enjoyed doing. But the proudest accomplishment came from his dedication to creating the memorial monument for the fallen soldiers from Staten Island killed in the Vietnam War. Being a Vietnam Vet himself combined with the dedication to the motorcycle world, he was heavily involved in creating and organizing the Ride for the 84+1 to remember those soldiers from Staten Island. Multiple awards and certificates of achievement were well deserved for all the hard work and efforts put forth by Eric. He also belonged to Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #421. To say he was very well respected by all is an understatement. There wasn't a person he met that didn't admire him. Preceding the death of his long-time companion, Lorraine, he is survived by his two brothers, Joseph and Anthony. Proud father of three children, Judith-Lynn Lang, Eric N. Fisher and his late daughter Jody Miraglia. Adored and known as Big Pop-Pop to Brianna, Nikki, Brandon, Kayla, Miranda and Isabella. He was uncle and friend to so many and the very proud owner of an English Bulldog, Buttons. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, with a service scheduled at 8 pm. Cremation will be private.
