Obituary of Patsy J. Guerriero
Patsy J. Guerriero, age 92, of Castleton Corners, passed away peacefully on January, 3, 2018, at Staten Island University Hospital. He had been a resident at Eger Health Care & Rehabilitation Center for two years. He was the beloved husband of Fran (Intravaia), until her death in 2007. He was the devoted and loving father to Theresa Miller and her husband Tom , Pasquale Guerriero and his wife Delores, Diane Casey and her husband Jim, and Robert Guerriero (now deceased). He was the cherished grandfather of Allyson, Elizabeth, Thomas, Todd and Robert and cherished great-grandfather of Logan, Chloe, Kaela, Colin and Brendan.
Mr. Guerriero was born in Brooklyn in 1925. He attended grammar school at Regina Pacis before attending Central Vocational High School in Manhattan. During World War Two, he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater- Hawaii. After his service he was employed for many years in the supermarket business. In 1966, he and his family relocated to Staten Island. He loved to spend time with his large family; he was always there to render help and encouragement to his children, his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.
Upon his retirement, he devoted his time and effort to the service of his community. He served as a founding committee member of the Staten Island AIDS Taskforce, volunteered at Bayley Seton Hospital's Detox Program, was an active sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous, delivered for Meals On Wheels and Gods Love We Deliver. He also served as a docent for the Staten Island Zoo.
Patsy was a loving, kind, and gentle man, full of generosity of spirit. He was loved and admired by everyone who knew him. Patsy will always be remembered for his deep religious faith and his caring for others. He was extraordinarily beautiful person and he shall be dearly missed.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc. 2508 Victory Blvd. On Monday, departing at 8:45 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Teresa's R.C. Church at 9:30 AM. An interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
