Obituary of Dominick Battinelli
Dominick Battinelli, 78, of Willlowbrook, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2021. He was the beloved husband of RoseMarie for 54 years; loving father of Dominick Battinelli and his wife Tina, Anthony Battinelli, and Matthew Battinelli and his wife Lori; cherished grandfather of Dominick, Brianna, Madison, Ashley and Matthew; dear brother of Nella Malanga, Salvatore Battinelli and his wife Joanne; fond brother –in-law of Ida and Joe Maniscalco, Joe Mazzola, the late Michael Malanga and the late Angelo Mazzola. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Battinelli was born in 1942 in Asmara, Ethiopia and lived there until age 11, when he relocated to Italy, before emigrating to the United States in 1957, settling in Manhattan. A few years after arriving in America he was drafted and proudly served in the United States Army, before being honorably discharged in 1970. Dominick was self employed most of his life, starting with his own grocery store in Manhattan and later owned an Arnold Bread route. He enjoyed watching soccer and listening to Italian music, but most of all he was a family man , who especially loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, and was an excellent provider and loved working. Dominick was a natural cook and could create a meal out of anything.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, departing at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:00 am, all are welcome to attend. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
