Obituary of Bernadine Iaccarino

Bernadine Iaccarino, age 76, passed away on January 5, 2018 after a 2 year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Joseph. She was the loving mother of Cammie Carter and her husband Mark, Michele Sullivan and her husband Bobby, Jennifer Burt and her husband Ray Sr. and Christiane Keane and her husband Mike. She was the cherished grandmother of Robert Sullivan, Brittany Sullivan, Ray Burt Jr., Lexi Carter, Michael Keane, Madison Keane and Mackenzie Keane. She was the dear sister of MaryAnn Crohan and her husband Don.

Bernadine was a life-long Staten Islander, who was born and raised in Port Richmond. She attended P.S. 21 and Port Richmond High School. Bernadine married her High School sweetheart, Joseph on May 18, 1963. They resided in Port Richmond for 9 years before moving to Westerleigh in 1972. Bernadine worked as a Secretary for States Marine in New York City and then as a Legal Secretary for Crecca & Associates on Staten Island. She left the workforce to raise her 4 children until they were grown. Later, she returned as a Secretary at Moore Catholic High School.

Bernadine was an active member of St. Roch's Church and a member of the St. Ann's Society and Senior Group. Bernadine was an avid volunteer for the St. Roch's Sports Program and many other Church functions. She enjoyed knitting, baking, trips to Atlantic City and spending much time with her beloved grandchildren. She attended almost every sporting event they were involved in. Her favorite times of the year were the holidays where she spent days cooking and baking. It was not a proper Christmas Eve without the singing of the 12 days of Christmas. Her favorite sports teams were the Yankees and Mets and the Duke Blue Devils Basketball team. She looked forward every year to March Madness. Bernadine will be remembered as an amazing role model for her grandchildren and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
