Obituary of Jennifer Lea Snyder-Gibbons

Jennifer Lea Snyder-Gibbons, 49, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Charles Gibbons for 22 years; loving sister of Colleen De Zinna and her husband Patrick, Charles Snyder and his wife KellyAnne, and Robin Yellott and her husband William; dear sister-in-law of Marie Spinnola and her husband Tommy; devoted daughter of the late Charles and Rosemary Snyder and fond daughter-in-law of the Grace Bringas and the late Charles Gibbons. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Jennifer was born and raised in Brooklyn and graduated from the High School of Telecommunications, Art and Technology and earned two Master's Degrees from Brooklyn College. For over 28 years she worked as a Math Teacher, most recently in Seth Low Intermediate School 96,in Brooklyn, for the New York City Board of Education. She loved being able to teach her kids and was very devoted to her craft. Jennifer and her husband loved to travel; and she also enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, organizing football pools, hockey, and passionately followed the Yankees around the country. Her favorite flower was the tulip and daffodil. She went to her first professional Football game last year. In addition, she also enjoyed concerts and plays. Her last concert attended was Bob Segar at Madison Square Garden. Jennifer was a dog lover and had many Labradors and Retrievers as pets throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennifer's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, from 10:00 to 11:30 am. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 am in the funeral home, with interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Due to Covid, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing, and be mindful that a wait to visit might exist due to current capacity limitations.
