Obituary of RoseMary Noll

RoseMary Noll, 78 Retired Catholic School Teacher RoseMary Noll (nee Barone), 78, of Westerleigh, went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2021. She is survived by her mother Lena Barone and by her children and their spouses: Christine Orlando and Nicholas Orlando; Richard Noll and Joan Schwartz; Stephen Noll and Annette Noll (nee Gucciardo). She was the cherished grandmother of Brittany Orlando-Ismail (Amir Ismail), Nicholas Orlando, Matthew Noll, Joshua Noll, Brianna Noll, Zachary Noll, and Sabrina Noll. She was predeceased by her father, Angelo Barone, and sister, Tina Barone. Mrs. Noll was born and raised in Brooklyn, and graduated from Lafayette High School and Brooklyn College with a bachelor's degree in education. She moved to Staten Island in 1971. While raising her children, she volunteered as Den Mother of the Cub Scouts and Girl Scout Leader at Holy Family Church. In the early 1980's, she began working for the Archdiocese of New York as a teacher for St.Peter's Elementary School, St. George. In the late 1980's, she went to work for Our Lady of Good Counsel Elementary School. She was a devoted born-again Christian, who read her Bible daily and was a member of a charismatic prayer group at St. Patrick's Church in Richmondtown. After retirement, she became an active member in the Willowbrook chapter of the AARP and served as treasurer. She attended monthly meetings and enjoyed participating in activities and trips. An avid baker, Mrs. Noll found joy in crafting many different kinds of Christmas cookies and distributing them to her family and friends. Mrs. Noll's favorite hobbies included sketching, painting, and arts and crafts. This became a favorite pastime of hers, often making homemade greeting cards for family members. In addition, she loved playing cards and board games with her children and grandchildren; she was the undefeated Scrabble champion. Donations in honor of RoseMary can be made in support of cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute/Empire State Ride in the name of her son, Richard Noll, who rides in her honor and memory.
