Obituary of Natalia Cordova

Natalia Cordova (also known as Natalia Joaquin), 32, of Brooklyn passed away on March 6, 2021. She was the beloved daughter of Belia and Carlos; loving sister of Carolina and Tania and her many cousins, who she loved deeply; dear granddaughter of Socorro and Dominga; precious niece to her aunts and uncles; compassionate caregiver of her cats, Onyx and Luna; loyal friend of many, and a role model to many fellow weightlifters. Natalia (Naty) was born in midtown west Manhattan and grew up in Boro Park, Brooklyn, her beloved borough. In her teenage years and early 20s, she split her time between upstate and Staten Island, where she finally settled after graduating from Le Moyne College with a major in Economics. She attended Curtis High School, where she realized that Staten Island had become her borough as well and learned about her love for tattoos. Naty worked as a tutor for underserved children on the island, and later as a financial advisor in Manhattan and Staten Island. She also helped low-income families accomplish their dream of buying a house when she worked as an advisor for a non-for-profit agency in New Jersey. After a career change, Naty became an accomplished weightlifter, obtaining a third place in her most recent competition. Natalia was able to lift over 200 lbs., way over her own weight. Though it was her career and business, she also helped many people by providing encouragement and support through her social media accounts. Currently, she was working towards her master’s degree in Business Management. Natalia was a very compassionate and giving person. Through the compassionate decision to help others by being an organ donor, she provided hope to many men, women and children who are in need of a life saving or a life enhancing transplant. Blessed is the person who has the honor to be host to Natalia’s beautiful heart.
