Obituary of Vincent T. Barbagallo

Vincent Barbagallo (Vince), 80, of Mariners Harbor, a native Staten Islander, passed away on Thurday, March 11, 2021. Mr. Barbagallo was born on March 8, 1941, on Staten Island, NY. He is the son of the late Frank and Josephine Barbagallo, and the brother of the late Joseph and Frank. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Guinn Barbagallo of 58 years; their children: Frank (Heidi), Vincent (Barbara), Donna Marchese (Joseph), Allison Mahoney (Robert), and Godson Louis Requena; and seven grandchildren: Asleigh Marchese, Caitlin Barbagallo, Frank Barbagallo, Amanda Barbagallo, Joseph Vincent Marchese, Alyssa Barbagallo and Julianna Mahoney. Also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Vincent attended St. Dorothy Academy and graduated from Port Richmond High School. He and his wife married on June 30, 1963. He started his working career at Manufacturer's Hanover Trust, NYC, and retired from the former St. Vincent's Hospital in 2006 as a Maintenance Mechanic. Vince was a devoted family man. He cherished his time with family, grandchildren and friends. Mr. Barbagallo enjoyed watching baseball and he loved going upstate NY where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition he also loved the Jersey Shore where he would go crabbing, clamming and boating. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's R.C. Church at 10:15 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Due to Covid, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing and be mindful that a small wait time to visit might exist due to current capacity limitations.
