Obituary of Frank Lumini

Frank P. Lumini, 70, of Westerleigh, passed away on March 26, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Christine; loving father of Barbra Tansey and her husband Francis, Debra D'Angelo and her husband Anthony, and Diane Tanjutco and her husband Carlo; cherished grandfather of Patrick, Emily, Justin, Anthony, Avery and Jaiden; dear brother of Mary Geary and her husband Harvey; he is survived by loving in-laws and the late Robert Nemeth; and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mr. Lumini was born and raised in Staten Island, and graduated from Curtis High School where he played football. He was a member of the Army Reserve. He was employed by the New York City Department of Sanitation for over 20 years, and after retiring became a bus driver for Island Charter. Recently, he was a pall bearer at Matthews Funeral Home. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed woodworking, making several pieces for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed painting houses, walking along the boardwalk with his dog Bella and taking trips to Atlantic City. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the NY Giants and NY Yankees. Most important, his family was his greatest joy in life, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Henry Stolzenthaler Council No. 1675 of Staten Island. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, 3/26, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:00 pm. Due to Covid, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing and be mindful that a small wait to visit might exist due to current capacity limitations.
