Obituary of Edward A. Munks

Edward A. Munks, age 36, of Forest Hills, NY, passed away on March 17, 2021. He was the beloved son of Terianne Darragh and Thomas Munks, brother of Thomas, Ryan and wife Kim, and Katie; cherished grandson of Edward Darragh and Patricia Kinney and the late Thomas and Peggy Munks; beloved uncle of Ryan, Clare and Marcus; loving boyfriend of Kara Howard and dear and cherished nephew and cousin to many. Eddie was born in Brooklyn and raised in both Brooklyn and Staten Island, graduated from Xaverian High School where he played on the Hockey Team. He enjoyed sports, Jets, Mets but most of all the NY Rangers. Playing hockey gave him such joy. He would seize any opportunity to play, whether on ice or roller. Eddie love kids, especially his nephews, niece and younger cousins. Family meant everything to him. His love, smile and laughter was contagious. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to oaksrecovery.org in Edward’s memory. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Monday, 3/22/2021 departing at 9:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 5371 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY, Monday, 3/22 at 10:15 AM. Family and friends may visit on Sunday, 3/21/2021, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM.
