Obituary of Michael A. Morrone

Michael A. Morrone, 63, of Briarcliff Manor, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 3, 2021. He was the beloved son of the late Gilda and Silvio Morrone, the cherished brother of Salvatore Morrone, who survives him, the dear sister of the late Catherine Somaio and her husband, Vincent Somaio, the dear uncle of Theresa Harvey and her husband David Harvey, Vincent Somaio, Jr. and his wife, Lissa and the great uncle to many beloved great nieces and nephews. Mr. Morrone was born and raised in Jackson Heights, NY. He graduated from Msgr. McClancy High School in Woodside, NY. He earned his advanced degrees from Cooper Union and Penn State University. He was employed as a chemical engineer at Timken Steel. In his spare time, Michael enjoyed playing chess and engaging in many horticultural projects. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd., on Thursday, 4/8/2021, funeral service to be held in the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, 4/7/2021 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Due to the current pandemic, all visitors are required to wear masks and social distancing will be enforced. A short wait may exist due to capacity limitations.
