Obituary of Vincent J. Palazzola

Vincent J. Palazzola 83, of Staten Island, passed away peacefully on April 24th, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Ann; loving father of Vincent Palazzola Jr. and his wife Sharon; Liane Palazzola Spodek and her husband Paul; cherished grandfather of Paul-Michael, Nicole, Joseph (Carolyn); dear brother of the late Anthony Palazzola and his wife Maureen, and Elizabeth Cammarano (Angelo). Mr. Palazzola was born and raised in New York City, and graduated from McKee Technical High School. He then worked a series of professions before starting a 29-year career with The City of New York Department of Sanitation, retiring as Assistant Borough Supervisor. In his spare time, Vincent enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, vacationing at their home in New Jersey and taking trips to Atlantic City. He enjoyed archery and crabbing, and always looked forward to going to breakfast and walking with his friends and family. He delighted loved ones with stories of mischievous adventures in his youth. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's R.C. Church at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Due to Covid-19, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing, and be mindful that due to capacity limitations there might be a small wait to visit.
