Obituary of Ann Spirocostas

Ann Spirocostas, 95, of Bulls Head, formerly of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Spirocostas; loving mother of Chris Spirocostas and his wife Mary, and Aphrodite Prinzo and her husband Carlo; cherished grandmother of Christen Heiden and her husband Kevin, Nicholas C. Spirocostas and his wife Jenny, Adam Prinzo, and Arianna Prinzo; devoted great-grandmother of AnnaRose Spirocostas, Chris N. Spirocostas, Olivia Heiden , Chloe Heiden, and Whitney Heiden; dear sister of Chris Liakakos and his wife Margie, the late Pauline Anastasakos, the late Gus Liakakos. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Ann was born and raised in Downtown Brooklyn, NY and later relocated to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where she resided most of her life. She graduated from the Girl's Commercial High School. Her career took her to NY Life Insurance Company and then A & S, as an Administrative Assistant. In her spare time she enjoyed needlepoint, cooking, and investigating history from the Encyclopedias, as she was a history buff. She also thoroughly enjoyed traveling, shopping and cleaning. Ann also enjoyed being a "snowbird," as she spent many winters in Florida with her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 9:30 am. Funeral service will be conducted at the Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, with interment to follow in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Due to Covid, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing and be mindful that due to current capacity limitations, there may be a small wait to visit.
