Obituary of David Ralph Pasacreta

David "Ralph" Pasacreta, 81, of Venice Beach, Florida, a longtime resident of Staten Island, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on April 28, 2021. He was the beloved father of Tara Trischetta and her fiancé Rob Cohan; Rick Pasacreta and his wife Amy; and cherished grandfather of Michael, Dylan, Ryan, Jack, and Mark. David was born and raised in Brooklyn, and graduated from Grady High School, at the top of his class. He moved to the Bulls Head section of Staten Island, after he married the late Theresa Randazzo, a Staten Island native, where he lived for 50 years. David had a long successful career as an interior designer and contractor in New York City. David returned to Grady High School to teach his craft. As a teacher and dean, he touched the lives of many students, retiring from the New York City Board of Education after 25 years. David most enjoyed time with his family, and regaling his grandchildren with his life stories. He enjoyed good meals with family and friends, traveling, writing, playing the guitar, and making people happy with his great cooking, including his famous Italian cheesecake. He will be greatly missed by many. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to John Hopkins / Peter Frampton Myositis Research Fund in memory of David Ralph Pasacreta. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Sunday, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Due to Covid, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing and be mindful that due to capacity limitations, there may be a visit to wait.
