Obituary of Michael Raia

Raia, Michael 79 of Graniteville passed away peacefully on May 19, 2021. Born and raised in Brooklyn to the late Michele and Trofimena Raia . Mike was a dedicated animal lover and loved his time off to visit the casinos. He loved and cherished many things in life, but most of all his favorite was being at home with his family around the table. Michael was a truly respected man, a hard worker belonging to the Brotherhood of United Carpenters Union and a loving friend to all. Mike married his childhood sweetheart Luz Gonzalez (Nellie) and they shared 55 beautiful years together building memories that they will never forget. Michael leaves behind his devoted wife Nellie, his loving children James and his wife Desiree, his daughter Michele, and Brenda who he thought of as another daughter, his adored grandchildren Nicole, Michael and Melissa. Friends will be recieved on Friday May 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at Matthew's Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd Staten Island NY. A mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Adalberts Church 337 Morningstar Road Staten Island. A private cremation will follow.
