Obituary of Marianne T. Goffredo

Marianne T. Roda Goffredo, of West Brighton, passed away on 5/21/21. She was beloved wife of Joseph Roda, who passed away in 1990, and Frank Goffredo, who passed away in 2000. Marianne was born and raised on Staten Island by her parents Frank Cortese and Sarah Lamberti. Her siblings are dearly departed Grace Visiglia, and she is survived by brother Victor Cortese and sister Francine Licata. Purcell Street housed all her siblings and their families along with many cousins and they all stayed very close. Marianne was loving mother of beloved departed son Frank Roda, and her surviving children, Joseph Roda, Francine (Timmie) Locke, John Roda and his wife Tricia, Marianne (Missy) Ruggiero and her husband Louie. She loved to cook, and travel upset NY, Florida and all casinos. She enjoyed life to the fullest and many priceless memories were made with the numerous family and friends who joined her at all these places. She also had 17 devoted grandchildren and 1 great grandson which were her pride and joy Michelle, Marie, Joseph, Kristie, Frankie, Samantha, Danielle, Victoria, Antonio, Lauren, Alexa, Jacqueline, Dawnmarie, Johnny, Gianna, Jayda, Louie Jr., and great grandson Mateo. She made sure she attended every birthday and graduation for all of them. Marianne touched many hearts in her 86 years and was known for her easy smile, vibrant personality, and loving nature. There was always room at her table, and she insisted on cooking all the holiday meals for her immediate family of 25. In 2005, she met Frank Kneipher who became her loving partner and a huge part of her family. Marianne was beautiful, independent, strong, selfless, and young at heart! She always gave more than she took. May she rest in eternal peace knowing the love that will forever surround her. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer or Kids Against Cancer. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, 5/27, at 1:30 pm, at Holy Family R.C. Church. The Memorial Visitation will be held at Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, 5/27, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, with a brief service at 6:00 pm.
