Obituary of Christopher M. Short

Christopher Short, 57, of Westerleigh, formerly of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on June 22nd 2021. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl Short (nee Muzii). He is survived by his aunt and uncle, Bob and Val Consentino, his niece Christina Masullo and nephew Anthony Uccio, as well as his cousin, Victoria Diaz. Chris was born and raised in Brooklyn N.Y and later relocated to Staten Island where he resided with his wife for the rest of his life. He graduated from the College of Staten Island where he received his Master’s Degree in both English Literature and Social Work. He loved to go watch the N.Y. Giants play football and would never leave without eating sausage and peppers. He wished he could celebrate Groundhogs Day every day! If you ever needed to know a random fact, he was your guy. Chris never missed an opportunity to tell a joke and always kept everyone around him laughing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in his name. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Saturday, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa’s R.C. Church at 10:45 am. A private cremation will follow. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The family requests that any unvaccinated visitors are to wear masks in the funeral home and church.
