Richard G. Shamah, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 22, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Bertha (nee Kalagassy) for 54 years. He was the loving father of Ron and his wife Danielle and Renee and her wife Cindy. He was the devoted "Pop Pop" of Karissa and Clara. He was the dear brother of the late Thomas. He was the cherished son of the late Eleanor "Teta" and Albert.
Richard was born and raised in Brooklyn; he later met and fell in love with his wife Bertha. They were blessed with 54 "glorious years" of marriage and two wonderful children. Richard was a hard working man who was a printer for about 25 years and for an equal number of years became a successful Real Estate Broker. Richard was a self-made man who was very proud and humble. In addition to being a great provider and role model for his wife and children he was even a better "Pop Pop". For hours at a time, he would spend time playing with his two beautiful grandchildren. He was incredibly dedicated to his family in all aspects of their lives. He was an extremely personable person who was considered the life of the party. Richard will be remembered as a joyful, strong, funny and selfless person who will live in the hearts and minds he touched throughout his life.
