Obituary of Carmine F. Germano

Carmine "Charlie" Germano, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 29th, 2021, at 97 years of age. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Phyllis Germano, on June 3, 2006, and his five sisters: Jenny, Marie, Ruth, Erma and Amelia. He was a loving dad to 2 surviving children, Diane Kolb and Steven Germano; six grandchildren: Tracey, Randy, Jaimie, Laurie, Steven Jr., and Michael, as well as 13 great grandchildren. Carmine took great pride in his service to our country in the US Army during World War II. He retired from the NYC Dept. of Sanitation after 30 years of service and from Bldg. Services for a good number of years. He liked to play golf and bowl, but his most enjoyment came from spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, as well as hosting large family gatherings with family and friends and also hanging out every day with my Uncle Henry. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, 8/2, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.
