Obituary of Rose E. Rotunno

Mrs. Rose E. Rotunno, at the young age of 102, from Port Richmond Center, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on august 7, 2021. Rose is the wife of the late Angelo Rotunno & daughter of Louis Padavano. Rose was the beloved mother of Lucy & Richard Nelson, the late Diane Hill & husband William Hill and the late Catherine Rotunno. Cherished grandmother of Dawn and Leonard Reina, Richard and Andrea Nelson, Scott and Tracy Hill, Kelly and Richard Lopez. Rose was also beloved great grandmother of Kirsten, Amanda,Haley, Richard, Mia, CJ, Madison,Richard and Shane and devoted sister of Virginia, Bessie and the late Connie and Jesse. Rose was born and raised in Port Richmond Center where she attended Port Richmond high school and was employed by Wallachs wallet factory where she met her late husband. Rose was also employed by the department of education and loved her family parties as well as cooking for Sunday dinners. But most of all Rose loved Atlantic City along with a glass (or 2 or 3) of burgundy wine at dinner every night. She looked forward to her Friday night pokeno games with sisters, friends and cousins and was a parishioner of Saint Roch's church as well as member of Saint Anne's society. Funeral departing from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday at 10:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Roch's R.C. Church at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 9:00 pm.
