Obituary of Marie C. Marteliano

Marie C. Marteliano, 90, of South Beach, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore (1996); loving mother of Louis Castaldi and his wife Linda, and Liza Horner and her husband Joseph; cherished grandmother of David, Lori, Matthew, Michael and Thomas; dear sister of Angela Antonelli. She was preceded in death by 11 siblings. Marie was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Marteliano was born in Manhattan, and raised in South Beach, Staten Island, NY. She worked for over 40 years as a Seamstress. She was an exceptional seamstress, who enjoyed making clothing for her family and friends. Marie also worked in the linen department at Staten Island University Hospital. In her spare time she enjoyed doing ceramics. Marie was also a proud volunteer for a long time at Staten Island University Hospital after her retirement. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, departing at 9:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Rosary R.C. Church at 10:30 am, with interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm.
