Obituary of Yogaranee Ananthasingam

Yogaranee Ananthasingam, age 66, of Staten Island, NY passed away on August 7th, 2021. Yogaranee was born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka on October 18, 1954. Daughter of the Late Arumugam Aiyathurai and Late Sinnathangam Murugapillai and sister to the Late Ponnusamy, Packiyam, Anandasingham, and Sinasundaram, Yogaranee is survived by her beloved husband, Ananthasingam Ratnam, children Pradeepan, Sally (daughter-in-law), Abirami, Parag (son-in-law), and Sivakami, and her grandson Aiden. Yogaranee was a loving mother and spread much joy with her infectious laughter. She enjoyed taking walks with her family, especially going for long walks along South Beach with her beloved husband. Yogaranee loved to travel and visit her family near and far. Over the years, she devoted time volunteering with the Salvation Army and the Alzheimer's Foundation here in New York. She also loved to dance and enjoyed celebrating auspicious occasions with family and friends. Yogaranee lived a beautiful life surrounded by many loved ones and she will be dearly missed. A viewing will be held in Yogaranee's honor on Thursday, August 12th from 5pm-9pm ET at Matthew Funeral Home located at 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10314. The funeral service is scheduled to take place at Matthew Funeral Home, beginning at 10am ET on Friday, August 13th. The family kindly requests that all attendees wear a proper mask for the health and safety of all in attendance for the viewing and funeral service.
