Obituary of Provvidenza Rappa

Provvidenza Rappa, 92, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincenzo (2005); loving mother of Salvatore Rappa, Matteo Rappa and his wife Ana, and Carmela Marsillo and her husband Rino, and the late Maria Rappa; cherished grandmother Vincent, Jackie, Daniel, Alexandra, Michael; devoted great-grandmother of Ariana, Autumn, and Jake. She was predeceased by four siblings and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rappa was born and raised in Italy and came to the United States in 1975, settling in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NY. She owned and operated a bakery back in Italy with her husband. Provvidenza was an excellent cook and seamstress. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, 8/20, departing at 11:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 11:30 am. Entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation on Friday, 8/20, from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
