Obituary of Antoinette A. D'Orio

Antoinette D'Orio, 94, of Bulls Head, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore (2015); loving mother of Vincent and his wife Carol, Salvatore and his wife Donna, Neal and his wife Perriann, and Josephine Curry and her husband Robert; proud grandmother of 11 and devoted great-grandmother of 14. Antoinette was born and raised on Staten Island, and a graduate of Port Richmond High School. In her younger days she was employed as an Operator at New York Telephone Company. Later on she and her husband Salvatore opened Pizza D'Oro, in 1973, which she still owned today. Her main focus was always family and an extreme love for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always enjoyed a good joke, and was always a prankster, and loved to have fun. Just ask anyone about the mouse in the ladie's belly story!!! When she was asked to come over, her first response was always "Are the kids going to be there?" Her love for life and laughter will be missed by us all!!! Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, 9/14, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, 9/13, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
