Obituary of Michael Garritano

Michael Garritano, 67, of Staten Island, passed away on September 15th, 2021. He is survived by his deeply beloved wife Cathleen, whom he shared 21 years, his children Michael Garritano, Krista and her Husband Rudy, his step-daughters Kimberly and her Husband Richard, and Kelly and her Husband Donald, and his treasured Grandchildren Ace and Teddi. He touched many people and saying to know him was to love him doesn't do him justice. Always one of the good guys, Mike was there for everybody and created meaningful and impactful interactions with everyone he met. His infectious smile lit up the room. He was one of the most caring and loving people who gave his all to all who were lucky enough to know him. He had that special gift of seeing and celebrating the good in everything and everyone. After retiring from Con Edison after 38 years of service, Michael was an extremely dedicated member of his church, Holy Family, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of The Holy Name Society, an Usher, and received honors of the Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He was beyond loyal to his family, his friends, and of course the St. Louis Cardinals and the N.Y Giants. No one spread more love and kindness in a lifetime, and he will be forever missed, but the love he shared will always live on. His Funeral Service at the Matthew Funeral Home is on Friday, September 24th from 3-8. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Saturday morning September 25th at 9:30. Followed by entombment at St. John's Cemetery, Queens, where he will be reunited with his loving Mother and Father, Rosie and John and other family who have also passed.
