Obituary of Lisa M. Sims

Lisa M. Sims, 59, of Westerleigh, joined the heavenly angels on September 21, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Richard J. Sims (FDNY); cherished mother of Trisha Sims-Carim and her husband Michael, and Tara Lassen and her husband Andrew; adored grandmother (Mimi) of Andrew and Caedon, and devoted God Mother of Devin Cutugno; loving sister of Donna Cutugno, Linda Potenza Bruno, and Lori Gallicchio. Also survived by several loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. Lisa resided in Westerleigh her entire life. She graduated from Port Richmond High School and became a licensed Cosmetologist. After owning her own salon, she went on to spend the remainder of her career at Clove Lake Nursing home where she owned and operated LMS Salon Services. Many of her happiest times of life were bringing joy and beauty to the residents. Lisa was an avid gardener, lover of the beach (her happy place), and enjoyed the precious moments with her family. In addition to family, Lisa had several circles of friends, neighbors, and co-workers who were a very important part of her life. Her favorite pastimes were watching General Hospital and enjoying a glass of wine. A lover of animals, Lisa adored her Yorkie, Lola. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Lisa's name is appreciated. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, 9/27, departing at 9:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Family and friends may visit on Sunday, 9/26, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The family of Lisa respectfully requests that all visitors to the funeral home and church please wear masks.
