Obituary of Mary Riso

OUT OF RESPECT FOR THE FAMILY, REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS PLEASE WEAR A MASK. Mary Riso, 93, of Bulls Head, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 27th, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late husband, Frank Riso. She was the loving mother to daughters, Christine and Linda. She was the dear sister to the late brother, Joseph DeMeglio. She is also survived by her nephew Christopher DeMeglio and nieces Laura Rosalbo and Lisa SanFilippo. Mary was born in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn where she married. Mary and Frank moved to Bath Avenue and began a family. Later they returned to Carroll Gardens. Mary raised her family and held numerous jobs and worked for the Internal Revenue Service. She enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City. She liked music, dancing and crocheting. She was a wonderful role model for her children. Mary will be remembered as a strong, loving and independent woman. She was one of a kind, an original and will be dearly missed. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, 10/1/2021, departing at 10:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pity Church at 10:30 AM. Internment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, 9/30/2021, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.
