Obituary of Florence C. Manza

Florence Manza of Bulls Head, Staten Island passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 12, 2012. Florence was born in Manhattan and was raised in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. She married her childhood sweetheart, John Manza, in 1947 and raised three children. Sons John Manza (Pat), Bill Manza (Magaret) and daughter Laura Purpura (John). Florence was an exceptional cook who enjoyed hosting dinners and holidays for her family and friends. She passed down many wonderful traditions that have become a source of comfort and joy. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, notably her seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. In 2014 she moved to Staten Island to be closer to her family and resided at the Esplanade Senior Living where she made many friends and enjoyed many good times. In addition to her immediate family she is survived by her beloved sister Marie Marrone and several loving nieces and nephews.
